Some recent cool nature sightings

There is so much happening and so little time to write our blog.  We are spending most of our time outdoors tending the garden, hiking and playing croquet with our new antique set. Yes, we're old school, but it's so fun!  Here's some of our recent nature sightings.

One of the haploa moths...

Turbulent phosphila caterpillars...

White-dotted prominent caterpillar...

Bumblebee on cosmos...

Peck's Skipper...

Gray treefrog on Cup Plant...so cute!

Another gray treefrog on goldenrod...

Fly pollinating a sneezeweed...

We so LOVE summertime.  Just last week we traveled up to Toledo, OH to visit Kitty Todd Nature Preserve and saw our first Karner blue butterflies, a federally endangered species.  Fantastic!  We forgot the memory card to our camera so can't share but that's the way it goes sometimes.

Next up - a garden update...it's growing, growing!

  1. Oh wow, I would love to see a Karner Blue Butterfly. I have only saw the pictures and thought they were so beautiful. I think the Tree frog is the cutest little critter. Great pictures!

  2. Sorry, I am being small-minded but the 2nd photo showing the piles of caterpillars makes me go, "euyuchhh."
The wonderful tree frogs more than made up for that photo, though.
