Removing the sod on my garden is taking forever, we're doing it by hand with a spade and fork. The turf on top had been hayfield for many years, so it's thick. But on the upside, there are a billion earthworms, so we'll be in good shap that way! I have one patch peeled up and want to get the potatoes in the ground this weekend while we work on the rest of it. Gardening season is so fun! I am just amazed at how you've been able to salvage so much of what you needed from what was there. I bet the former owner thought they were leaving you a pile of junk, not a pile of treasure!
