Healing the Land

Healing the Land
"We need acts of restoration, not only for polluted waters and degraded lands, but also for our relationship to the world. We need to restore honor to the way we live, so that when we walk through the world we don't have to avert our eyes with shame, so that we can hold our heads up high and receive the respectful acknowledgment of the rest of the earth's beings."
-Robin Wall Kimmerer

Common Milkweed

Common Milkweed
Why The Common Milkweed? Well many reasons: 1 - It's important! Milkweed is the only larval food for the Monarch Butterfly and food for many other invertebrates. 2 - It's common, yet possesses singular beauty and therefore represents all the beauty in and around us (right under our noses and on "this side of the fence") and the potential for that common beauty to be recognized, expressed and celebrated. 3 - Its persistence in less than ideal growing conditions proves that the beauty contained in the common endures.

Coyote Clan

Coyote Clan
"The canyons of southern Utah are giving birth to a Coyote Clan – hundreds, maybe even thousands, of individuals who are quietly subversive on behalf of the land. And they are infiltrating our neighborhoods in the most respectable ways, with their long, bushy tails tucked discreetly inside their pants or beneath their skirts. Members of the Clan are not easily identified, but there are clues. You can see it in their eyes. They are joyful and they are fierce..." Terry Tempest Williams

"May all your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view...where something strange and more beautiful and more full of wonder than your deepest dreams waits for you." -Edward Abbey "Benedicto" Desert Solitaire
