Warm hike at Inniswood Metro Gardens

Just last week we took a lovely warm, sunny hike at Inniswood Metro Gardens (where Jennifer works).  It's hard to believe looking out the window at the cold rain that's now settled over central Ohio this week.  Thinking good thoughts for sunny warmth asap!  Here's a few highlights:

Woods ablaze with Trillium grandiflorum...

Bumblebee nectaring on sweet violets...

A red-spotted purple (butterfly) caterpillar feeding on a young cherry tree (our first butterfly cat of the season!!)...

Pawpaw flowers in bloom.  Gorgeous!

And a funny shot of Jennifer checking out the many many tadpoles, frogs and salamander larvae in the pond.

Can't wait for so much more!

  1. Hi J&S...It is miserable and cold here too..I actually started a wood fire!!
The Paw Paw blossom are beautiful and such a unusual color!!
Lovely place and good time to get out for ahile!!

  2. I have to admit I was hoping to see how many more dozen garden beds you built, but I'm glad to see you got out and had some fun in nature! Ha ha! ;)

  3. Great caterpillar, you two always spot them! So glad you had some time for a hike:)
