More Raised Beds

After we finished the sod removal....

Steve crafted a new quick raised bed building system...

Utilizing lots more wood scavenged around our place.

The pre-constructed sides were nailed in place in situ...

by one happy carpenter!

Here's the view from the roof our house...

10 raised beds made completely from leftover/scrap lumber.  WOW!

  2. Love it, love it, love it! You know I'm totally loving your scavenger hunt for reclaimed lumber for your beds!! We figured out that our coop ended up costing us about $38.00 and that was hardware- hinges and screws and latches. We tried to scrounge those up, but after looking for sometime just had to buy. BUT, since we've looked online and a coop that is similar (and of course didn't have our special custom touches!) would have been upwards to $500. Now, that's frugal! Your beds are looking amazing, Steve! So glad you're a handy hubby, too, I know Jen LOVES that about you as much as I do about mine :*). Here's to sunshine for us all soon!! ~Vonnie, NH
