When you have apple trees, you get sick of stuff like apple pie, apple cobbler and apple crisp. Not really, but it is good to occasionally use apples in a more healthy way for breakfast. One tasty option is this:
1 Cup cooked grain of your choice
1.5 Cup diced apples
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 T sweetener (we used sorghum)
about 1/4 C water
Bring to a boil then simmer until water is absorbed.
Serve hot (you can actually see the steam in the pic below!) and don't burn your tongue!
Then eat some apple scones with your coffee :)
