Closing Day

UPDATE: October 22 - All went well at closing! We are traveling up north this weekend to get to work; we'll take many more pictures and share those next week. YAY!

If all goes well today we should close on this gem of a property! The rectangular property is 3.5 acres and is adjacent to many farm fields to the west.

The house is OLD. We don't know when it was built, but it's definitely prior to 1900. The front of the house will look much better once we restore the front porch (on the right side of the picture). Paint is in order too; perhaps next summer.

There's nice sunny growing space for fruit and nut trees, vegetable gardens, native plant gardens, etc. We can't wait for that! :)

We will spend the weekend cleaning and post more pictures next week....

Think good thoughts for us today!

  2. Hi Jennifer and Steve...How exciting and I am very happy for you!!
I love the little house and the front closed in porch area!!
Plenty of property to experiment with and I can tell you two are the kind of people who will made this work!!
    This kind of reminds me of what we bought back in 1969...old house(before 1890) with attached barn...uneven floors...and 3 acres of land!! Needed alot of work and always was a work in progress!! : }
Wishing the best today and for the future.
Will be waiting to hear more!!

  6. Wow!
    That place looks perfect!
Even better than the Dam Right Place!
If you got it, then I say,"CONGRATULATIONS !!"
(If you didn't get it,then: "Oh well, there will be something better later on.")
I bet you will find all kind of unexpected treasures there.
What great fun! I am jealous!
Can't wait to have a tour of the place.

  7. The house and property will flourish with all your personal touches. Would be great to see inside photos of before stage prior to any work and more outside photos. Happy cleaning, exploring, and contemplating the possibilities.
